Really??? Rubber Diamond Rings?

I'm sorry but this just will never be okay. Diamonds can be fun on all kinds of odd materials but I just don't think rubber makes the cut. I will have to pass on this one!

Smell the I R O N Y

Forever 21 just opened its first Hong Kong store today. It's kind of like if they just opened the first Dolce & Gabbana in Italy, don't ya think?

Pop-Up Shops Review

So, Art Basel is over... time to rest up of course. Did you get to see the pop up shops that came to town?

I had the opportunity to visit Dior, Pringle of Scotland, & Scotch & Soda.

Dior: amazing marketing with a great collaboration with German artist, Anselm Reyle. I loved the palette they worked with and even more impressive than the collection was Reyle's artworks inspired by Dior. The pop up shop was in a great space in the Moor building and even offered manicures in the aforementioned color palette to guests.

Pringle of Scotland: teamed up with The Webster for a minimal pop up shop a few doors down from Dior's space. The space featured Pringle of Scotland's newest collection with a colorful color-block focus on smart clutches and ready-to-wear including plenty of sweaters. In the spirit of Basel, there was a wall of art books for sale as well.

Scotch & Soda: was the only pop up I visited that I didn't expect to see. How was it? AMAZING! I am now a huge fan of the brand and their soft textured slouchy pants in 4 or 5 colors just really stole the show for me!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show TONIGHT!

This is always the exact night I get excited for the holidays... the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show! I can't wait to see what amazing designs will debut tonight (and sadly never be sold in stores but that's another story!) and what sort of production they managed to come up with this time around. Of course, it would be just perfect if Kanye West, Jay Z, and Nicki Minaj were not performing but alas, we do not live in a perfect world!

Online Shopping at ZARA

Even though I much prefer to go there in person, I finally just noticed that ZARA has jumped onboard the e-shop capability train. Can someone tell me when this began? For years I logged on, checking to see if I could finally shop online and now I can! Whoohoo!

Just recently H&M added online shopping too. Is there anyone else lagging?

How fun! Opening Ceremony Spring 2012

This is really what fashion is all about to me - fun, refreshment, excitement, art - Opening Ceremony really did it for their Spring 2012 collection. I never really followed the brand much and now I am starting to become a hopeless devotee. Sorry, I have to run - time to keep perusing their site!

Wonderful Musings on What the Next Year Has In Store...

With 2006's Alexander McQueen showing featuring a holographic Kate Moss in a ghostly couture gown and in the years since dresses that transform into other shapes and silhouettes as you walk, LED-lit gowns, and other wild technological applications in fashion, one has to wonder what exactly 2010 will bring. With a barrage of heavy-hitting style advancements like those - really what could they possibly come up with next?

I want to know what will be the next big futuristic movement in style and after seeing this new movie AVATAR, I have a feeling that the trends for the new year or two will be a sexy balance of vintage and way way future. Thoughts?

Boca Raton & West Palm Beach's Bolufe boutiques (3) were just featured a few minutes ago on the Today show. Kudos to them!

Robert Verdi Lashes Out For Attention Once More!

When asked about the Ralph Lauren photoshopping scandal and ultra-thin models in the fashion industry in general, celebrity stylist Robert Verdi said, "...It's why I stopped eating. I think food is for fat people and poor people. Rich people don't eat. They get dressed up and go shopping."
